Acura has new colourings for its Team Penske prototype race cars that will compete in the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Throughout the new season, the examples will wear the lily-white, orange, and pitch-black on the cars that triumphed three consecutive IMSA championships from 1991 to 1993. It’s sort of strange to realize that Acura as a symbol has been around and hastening long enough to have a heritage livery, but now we are.
The brand-new retro inspection is an updated take over the Camel Lights champion Comptech Racing Spice Acura NSXs of the early ’9 0s. The new vehicles debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway later this month, where Dane Cameron, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Simon Pagenaud will drive the No. 6 Acura Team Penske ARX-0 5 and Helio Castroneves, Ricky Taylor, and Alexander Rossi the No. 7 car.
Tune in to the 2019 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the twice-around-the-clock Rolex 24 at Daytona endurance contest on January 26 and 27.
